Over the last five years, EntrepreNorth has empowered over 200 Indigenous entrepreneurs across Canada’s North through business education and mentorship.
We have seen these entrepreneurs experience personal and business transformations through the programming that we offer.
We have seen the exponential impact that those entrepreneurs have brought back to their communities through the creation of local and meaningful employment, building sustainable pathways for breaking through poverty, knowledge sharing and mentorship for youth, the revitalization of traditional cultures, and through improvements in health and wellbeing.

Now is the time to build on this success… |
…while harnessing the remarkable creativity, collaboration, and innovation to continue to build this movement of Indigenous entrepreneurs leading meaningful change.
To do so, we need to confront the biggest barrier to critical mass in the movement. Indigenous communities face systemic barriers to accessing financing for their businesses, keeping them excluded from fully participating in the economy and from fully realizing the true potential of their impact. |
There are people out there who are creating change.
By investing in them, we can start the chain reaction that is needed to change course and create a world that we all want to live in - now and for generations to come.
To do this, we need to reimagine how capital is offered to Indigenous entrepreneurs in ways that align with Indigenous worldview, values, and ways of life. |
Critical mass is essential to driving transformative change. |
By putting the power in the hands of Indigenous entrepreneurs, they are given the means to lead the change and to catalyze systemic economic and social shifts that honour Indigenous values and contribute to a thriving, resilient North.
Investments into these leaders will create endless dividends as the equity and impacts are reinvested into the communities that we call home. |
Our approach is simple: We believe in Indigenous success.
The Northern Impact Fund has been created for Indigenous Peoples by Indigenous Peoples.
Because of this, we understand there is no one model or loan that can meet the many needs and challenges the diverse nations and cultures face in the north. The Northern Impact Fund is a 0% to market rate interest loan, paid out over the course of five to ten years in fixed or revenue-based instalments. We recognize the need for patient capital that is not only flexible on its terms but flexible in the stage of our borrowers and the technical and financial mentorship support needed. Our belief in Indigenous success carries over into how we lend. The impact is what matters. |
