Uplifting Indigenous Language Innovators​

Are you an early stage entrepreneur with a passion for Indigenous language rights and revitalization? Does the potential for inspiring purpose and community impact through entrepreneurship excite you? 

EntrepreNorth is launching a cohort-based program for up to 10 Indigenous entrepreneurs from Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon who want to contribute to a future where Indigenous languages are spoken and shared for generations to come all
while you…


  • develop the skills and knowledge to build a business that’s in alignment with your passions and purpose
  • spend your time nurturing relationships and sharing your knowledge and gifts (rather than feeling all your time is going into business admin)
  • ​generate a sustainable livelihood in a self-determined way​​

The Entrepreneur Growth Program is free of cost to ensure accessibility for all.

Over the past six years, we’ve had the privilege of working with Indigenous entrepreneurs from across the North who are inspiring innovation and community wellbeing through business.

  • John and Misty transitioned from part-time to full-time business owners 
  • Christine has been operating her food truck for over a year and is giving back to her community
  • Joella is hiring young people to work with her and is using her platform to bring awareness to critical issues in the North 
  • Erica has showcased her designs on runway at international Fashion Weeks and has collaborated with a major retailer 
  • Brenda is developing a greenhouse and harvesting project to support the wellbeing of her staff 
  • Bernice Clarke is teaching Inuktut Second language online through her business, in collaboration with the Pirurvik Centre.

Who should apply
Early stage Indigenous entrepreneurs in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon who are passionate about language rights and revitalization. 
​
We are looking for community leaders and unique innovators who are ready to create a positive impact in their communities.


The Indigenous Language Innovation cohort is grounded in culturally-centered business education that is designed to empower participants to tap into their strengths and access the tools they need to thrive. All program costs are covered and bursaries are available. ​

Examples of impact-centred businesses that can promote language revitalization
  • Language curriculum and teaching resource development
  • Language consulting services
  • Immersive language learning experiences such as camps, workshops, or retreats
  • Digital storytelling and learning platforms, such as apps and video games 
  • Digital language archives
  • Translation, teaching, or interpretation services
  • Language revitalization consulting
  • Developing tourism initiatives that highlight Indigenous languages and traditions
  • And more​
